Travel Planning With Google My Maps

You know the drill: At the end of each of my travel guides, you will find a map on which you can see the location of all the featured landmarks, eateries, train stations, in short, all relevant places. This way, you can orient yourself quickly and easily during your own visit.
So far, so good.

I have been creating these maps for you for years.
But it wasn’t until some time ago that it came to mind that I could create a map on Google My Maps ahead of a trip to optimize my travel planning.
This way, I have my itinerary clearly arranged and with all the information in one place.
My personal little travel guide in my pocket – literally.
In this post, I’m introducing the basics of Google My Maps and getting into detail about how you can personalize it and use it exactly the way it suits you best.

Kepler Club at the Airport in Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, and Riga

I first encountered the Kepler Club on my return flight from the Baltics at Riga Airport. And ever since I stayed in this amazing airport capsule hotel, I’ve wanted nothing more than for every airport worldwide to be legally required to have a Kepler Hotel!

This picture was just too congruent to illustrate solo travel. However, you do not always walk alone! Just so you know, I’m walking all by myself through the Museu Oscar Niemeyer in Curitiba in the South of Brazil.

Therefore, I decided to share my experience not only with my friends. Actually, I hope to inspire, inform, and encourage as many of you as I can. Follow my example and give solo travel a try.

Yes, when travelling with kids, you do take the drama with you: The baby’s crying, the toddler’s tantrums, and the teen’s moods. On the other hand, you also have a suitcase full of bonding and fun – and tons of wonderful shared memories. Hence, let nothing hold you back, just organize and prepare in a thoughtful and prudent fashion.
