Mui Ne – this fishing village a bit over 200 kilometers north of Ho Chi Minh City stands for sea and sand. And talking ’bout sand, I’m not referring to just a dreamy beach but to amazing sand dunes on the outskirts of Mui Ne.
Whether you prefer them in yellow or in red – you need to get up at the break of the day to enjoy them most.
This Way to the Whole Story ->Cartagena is Colombia’s most touristy destination. No wonder, they have a Caribbean beach and a walled old town that is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nevertheless, I found spending two days in Cartagena enough.
However, the old city is very alluring and there are lots of touristy infrastructures.
Exactly the reason to dislike it.

The perfect place for those who don’t suffer from FOMO but are very well able to observe and enjoy the small things of truly Colombian life.
This Way to the Whole Story ->Before I begin to tell you about my amazing day at Parque Tayrona, I must admit that I skipped one stop.
After we left the pleasure hell of the beaches of Cartagena, we made it to Santa Marta, a city by the sea. A little colonial, a little touristy, a little average, but very unpretentious. A healthy mix of good crowds.

Nha Trang is a well-developed beach resort, but as you leave the coastline, you find also a bustling Vietnamese city and lots of fascinating history.
If you are looking for long beaches, mesmerizing temples, and some serenity, you’ll find all this – and more – at Lovina Beach, Bali’s quiet escape on the north coast.
I included Puerto Madryn in my itinerary because it’s famous for its wildlife – however, apart from whales, it’s also known for Wales.
Apart from its interesting history and amazing encounters with various species, it grants some beachfront relaxation; exactly what I needed at the end of my trip.
This Way to the Whole Story ->Spending a couple of days on secluded Playa Santa Lucia peninsula and paradisiac beaches such as Coco Beach on Cuba’s northern coast is the perfect relaxing break between visits to all the interesting and vibrant cities on the island.
Although to foreigners, the peninsula Plays Santa Lucia seems very much off the beaten tracks, you can get there by public bus in about two hours.
I bet you didn’t know that paradise was that close by.
This Way to the Whole Story ->Let me guide you all the way east where Cuba keeps a hidden gem called Baracoa.
I was very glad that Baracoa was my last stop in Cuba – since it was definitely the highlight. Wrapping me in its relaxed, homey atmosphere, Baracoa would have spoiled me for the rest of Cuba.
