PUERTO MADRYN – All About Whales And Wales

I included Puerto Madryn in my itinerary because it’s famous for its wildlife – however, apart from whales, it’s also known for Wales.

Between beach days, you get to see fascinating creatures in the surroundings of Puerto Madryn.

Apart from its interesting history and amazing encounters with various species, it grants some beachfront relaxation; exactly what I needed at the end of my trip.

PLAYA SANTA LUCIA – Cuba’s Secluded Tropical Paradise

Spending a couple of days on secluded Playa Santa Lucia peninsula and paradisiac beaches such as Coco Beach on Cuba’s northern coast is the perfect relaxing break between visits to all the interesting and vibrant cities on the island.

Secluded and very, very nice: Playa del Coco.

Although to foreigners, the peninsula Plays Santa Lucia seems very much off the beaten tracks, you can get there by public bus in about two hours.

I bet you didn’t know that paradise was that close by.

I was very glad that Baracoa was my last stop in Cuba – since it was definitely the highlight. Wrapping me in its relaxed, homey atmosphere, Baracoa would have spoiled me for the rest of Cuba.

SIHANOUKVILLE – Cambodia’s most popular beach town

Sihanoukville is Cambodia’s most popular beach town. Actually, that’s the reason why it has a rather bad reputation – particularly among European tourists and travellers.

But I find that already this picture shows that Sihanoukville absolutely has its nice corners and can be the perfect gateway to various great locations.

Island Hopping in the Andaman Sea – Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Koh Jum

Reportedly, there are about 1,430 islands in Thailand – hence, there is a lot to visit during your Island Hopping in the Andaman Sea.

The most idyllic way of island hopping is done by the traditional longtail boats.

Still, not all of them inhabited, but sadly, many of them crowded.

Charmingly, some of the Thai islands come in clusters and are therefore easily accessible when island hopping.
